*Through Traffic" means traffic of every description

whether passenger or goods originating

(a) either at Canton or Sheklung and destined

for Hongkong or Kowloon or

(2) at Hongkong or Kowloon and destined for

Sheklung or Canton.

"New earnings" means the amount of the gross receipts from through traffic including ordinary terminal charges but excluding any charges for special terminal facilities, less the amount of the working expenses

attributed to such through traffic.

*Capital cost" means in respect of the British Sec- tion $10,533,000 and in respect of the Chinese Seo- tion $15,150,000-at-data of

The "Working expenses" actually incurred in respect of through traffic shall be ascertained in the manner provided in Schedule E hereto attached.

Accounte

Monthly accounts in English of all receipts from through trains, through bookings and interchanged traffic and rolling stock and all other matters requiring adjustment between the two Sections shall be made up by each Section as soon as possi- ble after the last day of each English calendar month, and sign- ed statements of such accounts shall be exchanged by the Ad- ministration of each Section and after being checked the bal- ance in favour of either Section shall be paid over without delay to the other Section.

In order to enable each Section to check the monthly accounts of the other and in order to facilitate the adjustment

of fares and rates referred to in Article 22 hereof the accounts of all through bookings shall be kept by eath Section in the English language according to an uniform method to be agreed upon between the administrations and such accounts of each Section shall be open to the inspection of a duly authorised
